heroslayer: (you're in for the fight of your life)
It was almost amazing how a little bit of his blood could keep someone alive while he relieved them of the top of their head. It didn't do much for the pain, he'd realized--the woman under him had passed out a handful of times during the process, leaving him waiting and wishing for a means to wake her up--but she was still alive, and that was the important thing. Barring Adam, who he'd been sure to make it quick for as he hadn't wanted to let him suffer since his ability had been a gift, he'd never quite had the pleasure. And even though the girl was unconscious yet again, he couldn't say he wasn't enjoying it.

Grinning wildly, he shifted a bit, his knees biting into her tiny hips both as a means of rousing her and to keep her pinned, once she did stir. He doubted she'd manage to fight him off even if he wasn't holding her down, but it was the principle of the thing--like keeping her alive, in the first place. He wanted this to be as painful as possible, as terrifying, because it was rare that he had the chance to indulge anymore, and he wanted to make it count. Make it last. Let the memory sustain him in the moments where the hunger ate at him and he had to leash himself--moments that were all too frequent, lately.

"Wake up," he ordered, leering down at her, and she moaned, her eyelids fluttering as she tried to pull herself out of the haze he'd left her in. Beyond that, however, she failed to stir, and he couldn't help but look disappointed for a moment, before his rage won out. Reaching down, he cupped her face in a mock gesture of intimacy, his fingers digging into her cheek viciously, and shook her a little. "I said wake up."

Another pained noise, and with no small amount of effort, she managed to open her eyes, looking up at him, hazily. She tried to shake her head, to clear it, and he released his grip on her face so she could try. Not that it would get her anywhere.

"Welcome back, Angela." )
