He swatted the remote away viciously, eyes darting to it in time to watch as the back came off and the batteries scattered. It wasn't broken -- he could tell that just with that cursory glance -- but there was something satisfying about what he had done to it. Hell if he could say why, however, nor did he allow himself more than that brief instant to enjoy it. He needed to keep his eyes on Elle.
"Instant gratification," he answered, flashing her a feral grin. "Sure, you could shock me from somewhere else, but I'd get to hear you scream, first."
