heroslayer: (came to rape me of my intellect)

On some level, he still wants to kill Bennet. The guy tortured him, and while he technically got his revenge - his eye for an eye - by going after Bennet's wife, that sort of got shot to shit. So he still feels like he owes Bennet some kind of pain, just to even their score. On the other hand, he feels like that score has been settled, in Bennet clue-by-fouring him, the other night. Even if he doesn't know what to do with the knowledge Bennet left him with, even if he hates the fact that it's true and it scares him, the guy did him a favor.

So needless to say, he's pretty conflicted.

Strangely enough, though, he'd probably keep talking to Bennet. Not sure what he thinks about him or not, the guy has some unique insight. He almost knows him, so he can give him hard truths when he needs to hear them. And not many people can do that, let alone hold their ground with him long enough to want to. Yeah, it irritates him that he can't use his usual scare tactics on Bennet, but it's akin to looking an animal in the eyes. You let them know that you're not afraid, and eventually, they'll give up on trying to maul you.
