He absolutely hates Rachel.

He's not stupid. He knows that all the posts she's been making on SWS - whether you want to consider that message boards or whatever - are directed at Mohinder. Or, well, he strongly assumes, anyway, since they started right after she and Suresh were meant to meet. And yeah, ok, he recognizes that she's holding herself back because she doesn't want to hurt him, but really? Really? He spared her life when he could have just killed her and gotten it over with, that first time he was at her apartment, and then she goes and does that. Betrayal for his genorosity? How dare she make eyes at his property?

He hasn't killed her and just gotten it over with for two reasons. One, she hasn't mentioned meeting the Batman yet, and so he doesn't want to touch her. That has to come to pass, because he saw it happening, and he doesn't want to be in that pile of thugs the Batman's standing on, if the guy does have kickass powers. And two, he's still not sure what the limits of her abilities are. He doesn't want to attack her, have his cover blown and have her escape, if it turns out his armada of abilities can't take care of her shadow.

So he can wait. Pretend to be her friend. Test the waters. He's got enough lies to sustain him for as long as he needs to, and he enjoys the mustache twirling so very, very much. One day, he'll get around to tying her to those damned railroad tracks, but not today.

Also. The opinions of the muse are not those of the mun. I <3 you. And I think the fact that Sylar's all, "My Mohinder! No touchy!" is hysterical, since the muse has genetic_fate in two other verses. Greedy bastard.

She genuinely believes that she'll be able to hold back and do the right thing. She's downright defensive about it--she got into a shouting match in a post the other day when someone told her "oh eff it, at the end of the day you need to do what makes you happy". I suspect the defensiveness is born of a deep-seated, very five-year-old sense of "But don't wanna." However, it's the right thing to do, and of course it's putting someone else ahead of her own wants/needs, which is nearly pathological with her sometimes.

I have not yet sat down and figured out what could and could not stop her shadow, apart from what was discussed in the thread itself--manifestation takes a lot out of her, if it's sustained, and if there's no light, there's no shadow. It'll also be a while before she meets the Batman, since I have a ways to go with her storyline, to get her to a point where she's doing stuff that's going to make him go find her and go "dude, knock it off, okay?"

She is, of course, completely oblivious to even the existence of a moustache, let alone any associated twirling. It's a joy to have her trusting nature be taken advantage of, for once, to have it played and exploited intelligently and deliberately rather than seen as something to dote on or like her for. She's completely buying everything he's laid out, and genuinely believes they're good friends, and he's someone she can rely on and look up to.

I heart you, too. And well, he wouldn't really be Sylar if there wasn't some greedy bastardry going on, right? :)
