Comment here to find out what Sylar really thinks of your character. The truth, I mean, not just what he'd tell you, and not just what he thinks he thinks.

Date: 2008-08-26 05:24 am (UTC)Sylar is jealous of Peter. Insanely jealous. Sylar has to work for his powers - get his hands dirty - and while he relishes murdering, because not only is it such a high, it also ensures that he's the only one with that particular ability, Peter has it easy. Anything power he can imagine, he can have at his fingertips, just by finding and connecting with someone who already has that ability. He doesn't have to work. He doesn't have to plan or worry about being caught or any of that. He just has it handed to him on a plate. And jealousy, for Sylar, leads to hate. And hate leads to wanting him dead. It's kind of like the dark side of the force.
It's funny, though. Sylar would be happy to kill Peter, even if it somehow meant he couldn't take his ability. Oh, sure, it'd be nice to have - make his life so much easier - but even if he just had to kill him, flat out? That's fine. He won't have all that wonderful power, but neither will anyone else. Anyone who wants to be like him will have to work just as he has, and he severely doubts anyone else will. No one's as committed as he is. They can't be. They don't understand things like he does.
Beyond the jealousy and the hate, though, Peter also scares the hell out of him. And not just because the guys is the only enhanced human with the potential to take him down, solo. More because Peter is what he might have been. A shadow. A reminder that if things had gone differently, if he'd had more support or if he hadn't been betrayed, he might be the hero for once. That Gabriel Gray might have been someone who people noticed, rather than having to reforge himself in murder for people to notice.
And yeah. There you go.
